Italy publishes operating rules for energy communities

The Italian Energy Agency has published rules for the operation of energy communities.

The new rules describe how project developers can receive rebates provided by the Italian government under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNNR) for the construction of energy communities, while also explaining how these incentives can be combined with the feed-in tariffs awarded to these communities. The new regulations also describe how PV systems deployed before December 15, 2021 can be included in the incentive program. The rules stipulate that they can account for up to 30% of the total electricity generation of the energy community.
